The book is divided into three interconnected parts.

Simo Häyhä's 2017 discovered handwritten war memoir forms the basis for the first part into which his other Winter War memories from other early 1940's sources have been added.

Second part further on adds to his Winter War memories and goes further into his life and thoughts over war. The many myths surrounding him are also compared against the original sources.

In the third part the legendary Winter War front of Kollaa and its defensive battle against the Soviet Union is remembered through stories that follow the warpath of Häyhä's famous company 6/JR 34 and its leader Aarne Juutilainen.

The aim of the book is to allow for a more humanized version of Häyhä to be brought to the public through his own words, letters and recollections.
